Racing Night at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, part of the 2008 summer Cruise Nights series, will include a vehicle display featuring “Dandy Dick” Landy’s 1968 Super Stock Dodge Hemi® Dart and Sox & Martin’s 1968 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda.

- Landy’s and Sox & Martin’s iconic racers will join the #12 ALLTEL Dodge Charger driven by NASCAR’s Daytona 500 winner Ryan Newman in the Museum’s front circular drive, along with the 1956 Dodge Race Car and the 1951 Chrysler Saratoga
- Landy’s 1968 Super Stock Dodge Hemi Dart:
- is the original automatic car, primarily match raced
- is one of 50 1968 Hemi Dart “lightweight” cars produced for factory-backed, super stock drag race teams
- won numerous National Hot Rod Association (N.H.R.A.) and American Hot Rod Association (A.H.R.A.) Street Eliminator and A/Modified Production Classes. The racer also captured the Western Division N.H.R.A. Super Stock Points Championship
- Sox & Martin’s 1968 Hemi Barracuda:
- is regarded by many as Ronnie Sox’ most successful car ever, raced in 1968 – 1970
- is one of 50 1968 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda “lightweight” cars, produced for factory-backed, super stock drag race teams
- earned the 1969 N.H.R.A. National Championship title
- earned N.H.R.A. National Event Super Stock Eliminator titles including the 1969 Spring and Indy Nationals and Dallas World Finals and the 1970 Winter Nationals. The racer also set multiple national elapsed time records and won many A.H.R.A. and match races
- The Landy and Sox & Martin vehicles will be displayed courtesy of Tom Abrams, owner of Reliable Carriers in Canton, Mich.
- Racing Night will also feature an autograph session with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Kurt Busch – alongside the #2 Miller-Lite Dodge Charger – on the Museum’s back patio from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
- Cruise Nights welcomes cruisers with all makes and models and guests to the Museum’s spacious grounds for concept and production vehicle displays, music, food, prize drawings, Museum tours and awards for outstanding vehicles.
- A $5 donation is requested for Museum entrance and back patio Kurt Busch program
- Cruise Nights are presented by the Chrysler Jeep Superstores and the Motor City Dodge Dealers
